originals on canvas
My grandfather left Brighouse for Rio in the 1920s, searching for work and adventure. He learnt Portuguese before he left. When he arrived, there was no work. He stayed a year anyway - worked on a snake farm, travelled, lived. He came home with a dead snake in a jar and stories that refused to fade.
My sister loved Fox Terriers. When she died, I understood that some things matter more than we admit.
These paintings are dreams. Escapes to imaginary lands. Chalk figures that move across landscapes. Horizons that call to us. They're about wanderlust, longing, and honouring the people and places that won't let us go. Alice in Wonderland logic meets real longing.
They're not postcards. They're what we carry with us.
